Oyinkansola Ayra Starr, a stage name for Sarah Aderibigbe, a Nigerian singer and Beninese-born, was born on June 14, 2002. At the young age of 16, she signed on with Quove Model Management to start a fashion profession. Later, she made the decision to focus on music. She initially shared a new composition on her page in December 2019 after recreating a number of songs by well-known musicians on Instagram. Don Jazzy, the head of Mavin Records, noticed her because of this and recruited her to the label. The single “Away,” from Ayra Starr’s self-titled debut extended play, reached at number 17 on the Billboard Top Triller and spent two weeks in a row at number four on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 50 chart. This song helped Ayra Starr gain widespread exposure in early 2021.
