Nigerian Afro beat lynchpin, Burna Boy came flying at the just concluded 2021 Grammy Award winning the “Best Global Music Album” category.
Burna Boy‘s most recent studio project, “Twice As Tall” album released last year won the category of the “Best Global Music Album” at the show Premiere event of the 63rd edition of the GRAMMY Awards. This comes as his debut Grammy Award win.
In the video released by the music academy, Burna Boy announced that the win is for Africa at large and promises to represent no matter anywhere he is doing his music from.
Burna Boy is the pioneer winner of the renamed category, which was known as the “Best World Music Album.” The category sees tough competitions from Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tinariwen.
