Tems wins Best International Act at BET Awards 2022

Tems, a singing diva from Nigeria, won the Best International Act category at the 2022 BET Awards.
Tems, the latest Afro-beat royalty, took up two awards at the recently held 2022 BET Awards in the areas of Best International Act and Best Collaboration. Apparently, Tems was joined on podium by Tec (one half of Show Dem Camp) and his manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, to accept the price.
Excerpt from Tems acceptance speech;
“It’s an honour… I mean, this is my first award show that I’m winning something and I just want to use this as an opportunity to speak to every single young, old, whatever, every single woman watching this, every single girl watching this at home.“
“Where I’m from, things like this don’t happen.”
Dinos (France), Dave (UK), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Little Simz (UK), Fireboy DML (Nigeria), Ludmilla (Brazil), Tayc (France), and Major League DJz (South Africa) were among the artists Tems defeated in the category.
In the meantime, Tems collaborated with Justin Bieber on the remix of Wizkid’s smash hit “Essence,” she made an appearance on Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” album for the track “Fountains,” and she also appeared on Future and Drake’s “WAIT FOR U” from the “I Never Liked You” album.
Nigerian Afro-beat stars. Fireboy DML and Pheelz gave a perfect rendition at the night, which added to the event’s vibrancy.
