4 Navy Personnel killed in a gun battle with sea pirates
Six Nigerian Naval rescue squad was involved in a fierce gun battles with sea pirates on thursday, 2nd January, 2020 where four Nigerian Naval Personnel were killed in the gunfight.
Two rescue squad escaped without injuries where a vessel is stolen by the sea pirates according to reports.
A top Naval source who talked to Premium Times, said four of the Naval personnel were killed in the gun battle which happened within the jurisdiction of NNS Delta; an operations base in Warri which is one of the seven units under the Central Naval Command Jurisdiction.
The Source said:
“The suspected sea robbers had boarded the vessel and abducted three crew members (two Russians and one Indian), leaving behind five other crew members before the team arrived” .
Remains of the Naval Personnels are said to have been moved to a Navy hospital in Warri
