Liverpool OUT as Atletico Madrid reaches quaterfinals of the 2020 UCL
Spanish side, Atletico Madrid knocks out the defending champions, Liverpool, in a sensational 5-goals thriller (2-3) that sends them to the quarterfinals of the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League.
Klopp’s men who travelled to the Spanish capital for the first leg couldn’t get an away goal as Diego Simeone’s men came victorious in a 1-0 boring match, though Atletico Madrid dominated the whole game in the first leg encounter.
The second leg which played through to the extra time after Wijnaldum puts the host, Liverpool ahead at the 43 mins. Substitute Marcos Llorente scored twice in the extra-time as Atletico Madrid cruised in a 3-2 second-leg victory to knock out Liverpool and go through to the Champions League on quarter-finals 4-2 aggregate.

Sensational Atletico goalkeeper, Jan Oblak made an important save either side of Wijnaldum’s headed goal and Andy Robertson nods against the crossbar as the brawl went the distance at Anfield.
Roberto Firmino scored a wonderful goal as he puts The Reds ahead in the game for the first time with a goal premature in extra time, but Llorente couldn’t wait on in the second half as he capitalised on an Adrian massive error to bring the match back in Atletico’s side and added a second goal after eight minutes.
Alvaro Morata applied some sauce to the scoresheet in the last seconds of the seconf half extra time, making his manager, Diego Simeone sliding down the touchline in an elated moment from the Spanish side and their travelling fans.
